Information Provided Directly
Search entries
A name, location, or other term entered into a search tool is passed to the independent provider that operates that tool. Wayne County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those query terms on its own systems. The provider’s terms and privacy policy govern its handling of a submitted query.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or a contact-form message, the message and the contact details supplied may be retained to respond, keep a correspondence record, or address a site issue. They are not shared outside the organization except when disclosure is legally required.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most websites, the site and its service providers may receive technical information when a page is loaded. This may include the following:
- Internet protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referring site, when supplied
- Date and time of access
Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies may be used to understand traffic, remember limited preferences, and support advertising or analytics services. A browser can block or delete cookies, although portions of a search, advertising, or site experience may function differently after that choice.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate and protect the site, respond to messages, route a search request to the appropriate partner, understand which pages are useful, diagnose technical problems, and support advertising that may be based on interests. It is not collected to confirm an arrest, alter an official record, or make a custody decision. Official record questions remain with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, courts, police departments, or Missouri Department of Corrections.
Outside Links and Services
The site links to official sources such as the Missouri Courts, the Missouri DOC offender search, sheriff resources, and other information services. Once a visitor follows a link, the receiving site’s terms, privacy policy, availability, and data practices apply. Wayne County Busted Mugshots does not control an outside service’s content, search results, or data handling.
Advertising partners may collect information about activity across sites on their own systems to provide interest-based advertising. Their practices are governed by their own notices and choices.
Who May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold as a standalone product. It may be processed or disclosed to the following categories when needed for the stated purposes:
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure site performance
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements
- Service providers that host, secure, or maintain the site
- Law enforcement or government authorities when a valid legal order requires disclosure
Security and Retention
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information, but no internet-connected system can promise absolute security. Messages and technical records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for communication, operations, security, legal obligations, or dispute handling. A visitor should avoid sending sensitive case, identity, or record documents through an ordinary web message unless an official custodian has instructed that method.
Visitors Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor supplied personal information through a message, they may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion where appropriate.
Your Privacy Choices
A visitor may ask what contact information has been retained, request correction of an inaccurate message record, request deletion where applicable, or opt out of certain communications. Requests can be sent through the Contacts page. Browser settings and advertising-industry choice tools can also control cookies and some interest-based advertising. A request does not alter records held by the Wayne sheriff, a police department, a court, DOC, or another government office.
Policy Changes
This policy may be updated as services, practices, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted here with a revised effective date when material changes are made. Continued use after a new version is posted means the visitor accepts the updated policy.
